Default Alpha Junior Mixer Question

I started working on my Alpha Junior milker engine recently. I am attempting to remove the mixer as it appears to be needing a new gasket between it and the block. I have removed the two screws that hold the mixer to the block but it seems to not want to release from the intake tube. It is loose but does not want to do anything but wiggle. Anyone out there removed the mixer and can tell me what I need to do?
