Default IHC Famous saw trucks

Can Anyone tell me if there are 2 different sizes of sawtrucks like the are 2 sizes of reg trucks ie. 4&6 hp trucks and 8&10 hp trucks on the regular portables. There is also a 12 &15 hp truck but I don't think IHC made a saw bigger than 10hp.The engine mounts the other way on the saw trucks so it's not an addition of the saw like on Herc/econ. trucks.I have a 6 hp Famous on a saw truck but the truck is the same size as the 8-10hp reg trucks.I was wondering if that was original. Thanks Rob

If you check in the original or reprint catalogs you will see that the 6 hp saw rigs used the same size wheels as the 8 or 10 hp saw rigs. Maybe because of the added size and stability required with a saw rig??? I think the same is true of Mogul saw rigs ??? I wish I could find the correct 6 hp wheels and axels for my 6 hp Mogul but with the prices of carts lately......

Thanks Ken,I guess then the 6 is on the right looks a little out of place with the cart being so heavy.A 4 hp must really look funny.Wheels are pretty hard to find.i haven't seen many loose 1's.Rob

Rob, the parts book make this separation:

3-4-6 hp Tilting table/ 4-6 hp Sliding table.

8-10 hp Tilting table/ 8-10 hp Sliding table.

8-10 hp Old style/ sliding table.

12 hp Tilting table/ Sliding table.

My book shows 6hp tilt table saw having 26 inch front and 34 inch rear wheels. 6hp sliding table has 30 inch front and 38 rear wheels.

It's a sliding table with 30's and 38's so I guess that it's the right trucks. Thanks to all who have helped.Rob

Axel lengths on the horizontal saw carts are about 11" longer and the front bolsters are configured for 4 "torsion" bars that run the length of the front axel inside and out, top and bottom. That with the slightly bigger wheels adds stablity to the set-up. That's my buck's worth since I'm working 12 hour shifts (12:00 mid-12:00noon) this weekend . Rob: Packed the 10HP away last week . Bringing my 6HP portable which hasn't been out yet. Hope it runs . Paul
