There are three variations of the points for the Type FYED4 Bosch ignition system. Early mid and late production. A picture of what you got will allow me to identify the version. If you do not have any points a picture of the coil and leads will tell the story unless they have been modified. Mark

Do you offer point rebuilding service or could you explain how it's done and where do you get the contacts for it. I've seen platinum contacts for some hit and miss stationary engines and heard it could be silver soldered on.

We only offer reconditioning. Best we can do at this time for economy sake is to recondition what we have by swapping around parts. Or simply by reconditioning another used set. I can have new contact chip material put on but the price starts to get out there. And you will want to reconsider from platinum, if you can even get it as that gets real expensive. If I had money to blow I would spend it and have new threaded points made and new interrupter levers made. But the price again would be way out there. It would be a labor of love as you would have to sell at a loss unless you went to China to get them made. Even then the quantities required even from China would be an obstical. Anyone who has the money that would not mind doing it as a labor of love contact me.

Thanks. Yes I was thinking of tungsten and not meaning to put platinum.

No I was just clarifying a statement.. The Maytag ignition points were taken care of back then by Mark Shulaw and still runs great to this day
