Question Wisconson production date

One if my twin son's has given me a late christmas present. It is a large - heavy single cylender wisconson engine, with a wrap a rope starter. This thing feels heavier than an Ideal hit and miss I own! It is a model AEH SD, bore 3" stroke 3 1/4", S/N 546---. The engine has original paint - military olive green, with the sealed Hi Tension wiring. The Data plate seems to be a regular Wisconson plate, but engine rpm data spot is blank, and a Navy anchor is stamped into the ID plate, next to the Model # data.
Can anyone tell me when this was built, and what the HP is? From the size of it, it must be a low speed engine. Thanks for your help, in advance!

My information indicates that model AEH was made from 1941 - 1949 so imagine your engine would probably fall into about the same period. The suffix D usually indicated a Stellite exhaust valve. HP ratings from my Wisconsin manual for model AEHS are as follows: 5.2 @ 2000 RPM; 5.9 @ 2200 RPM; 6.5 @ 2400 RPM: 6.9 @ 2600 RPM; 7.2 @ 2800 RPM; 7.4 @ 3000 - 3200 RPM.

Thanks for the info. Shameless self promotion or not, any info is a help, not only to me but to anyone else on the Stak, wether it be a few words or a website. We are here to help gain knowledge, help others to learn about the engines and machines we love and work on, and to assist others in need. I do not call that shameless self promotion, I call it generous assistance. Lets keep the Stak a friendly place. Any and all information is appreciated, no matter what the source
