Default New Witte CD parts interest

I've been contacted by a Bharat Mehta about an parts wanted ad I placed some time ago. His family has been in the business of manufacturing engine parts in India since 1957 I believe is what he said. He now lives in London, but he can still get parts made...... any parts for any engine as long as he has dimensions. I'm considering getting some Witte diesel parts made and he has experience making these parts.

He sent me pictures of a Witte MD liner and piston he had made and it looked pretty good.

These are the prices I was given:
Piston with plain liner: 385 each
Piston and liner with chrome bore: 435 each
Wrist pin: 65 each
WP bushing: 65 each
Ring set: 85 each
Valves: 115 each set
guides: 45 each set
Head gasket: 55 each
Injector, complete: 185 each
Injector nozle: 35 each
Fuel injector pump: 235 each
Injector pump element only: 45 each
Rod bearing (babitted bronze): 255 each

The main parts I really need are the piston/liner/WP and guides. Maybe fuel pump or element and injectors.

The minimum quantity is 6 on everything for these prices. I can't afford that. Is there anyone who would be interested in these parts at these prices? Shipping would cost about 150 to get whatever is ordered to the US. Shipping from the port would be on top of that.

This is his email address if anyone wants to contact him directly.

Thanks for the info, good to have options.

My thoughts/opinion:
Rings, valves, guides, and gaskets are all available or not difficult to figure out here in the US.

Rod bearing is similarly priced to the aluminum one available from Arrow.

Injector nozzle similar or more money than updated version available on ebay. Search for AMBAC or Haynes ADN4SD513 or NSN: 2910-00-218-6579

Injector body and injection pump and pieces are best I can tell hard to find here, wonder about quality of the Indian version?

Wrist pin and bushings I have not researched, doubt the bushing is hard to get or make though, not sure on the pin, if it (and bushing) may be same as current Arrow parts?

Piston and liner is difficult to find here, and might be worth trying a set if you needed one.
Anyone priced having original liner bored and sleeved for comparison?

A lube oil pump would be about the only piece I can think of I might need.

I will not be able to pursue this option unless some other people also want liners, pistons, and pins at least. I can pay for 3 sets. Each set would cost about $535.

Oh... it will be quite a while before I can do this, so there is lots of time to get this lined up. Probably close to a year before I place an order, and that's only if I get people to buy the other 3 sets.

Aside from the rod bearing, arrow's prices are more than double those I posted above.

David Johnson sells those. He's a member here and might chime in. You can search this forum and find his contact info easily.
