Thanks for the encourgement. My son the mechanical engineer assured me the studs would take the stress of 100 tons. I will make him run the numbers again berfore i go that route. Patince goes a long way on a project like this. It has been stuck for at least 40 years. I sure would hate to bust the jug or piston. May just leave it soaking for a few months .

My how time flies by. I started back on the Tips project today. After soaking almost four years there is still no seep around the piston skirt. I applied some heat today with a weed burner (thanks Paul Spence). Not as hot as a torch rose bud but a lot more of it. Updates may be sketchy for awhile but I will post if progress is made.
