Talking Re: 6hp Reid

Kautreena, thank you so much for the opportunity to buy the little reid engine. My Dad use to pump a well with a Rh 8hp when he was a young man (age 64 now). He even had a chance to buy it at one point, but let it go. Has always said he wished he had bought it. Well he has one now, and it sure is a nice one. It was really something to watch Dads eyes when he walked up on the hill and found it. Looked like a 5 year old that got his first bicycle It was a good day and the little Reid will have a good home. Kautreena, we will keep you in our thoughts and prayers. Thanks, Skidmore

Photo Re: 6hp Reid

Here is some pictures of the removal of the well known Kautreena 8 Hp Reid . We took the engine out in pieces, figured it would be safer and easier since it was very cold and in bad weather. Was going to take it apart anyway. Every nut and bolt came right off like it was bolted together yesterday. Well yesterday was 1898 she's 112 years old # 494. Going to clean her up and tighten up a few moving parts. No sand blasting or pressure washing going to take place on her. She's got alot of the original paint. Thanks

Kautreena, sorry to hear about your illness. These things have a way of reordering our priorities which in the long run of things is a good thing. Serious illness, often brings us to realise what are the real important things in life. It sounds like you have things sorted out about right, God, family and friends. You are in my prayers, keep looking up. You are an encouragement to me.
Walt
