Default Witte Hit & Miss Engine 1/2 H.P

Hello,
I am looking to start collecting these engines and one came available in my local area. I was needing help determining a fair price to offer seller. Any guidance would be very helpful.

Thank you,
JR

This is actually a HALF horse, and not a one and a half horse? I never knew Witte made one that small. A quick search shows the smallest one being a ONE horse Junior. Now don't blast me for what I said, all I'm saying is, if this is an original half horse, it's rare, and I never heard of one, and HBURK's price is more in line.

I thought I'd read awhile back that the headless 1 1/2hp Wittes are very rare. I could be wrong, so someone may double check that.

The 11/2 hp is pretty rare in a headless model. The one in gaspowers pic is a two horse. The 11/2 hp headless has a more rectangular hopper and the valve cage is cast with the hopper and the base as one piece. I don't believe they made a 1/2 hp model. I could be wrong about that.
I have a 11/2hp headless it is tagged Winner by witte engine works. So if gaspowers is a 2hp Rays price is about right.
Hburk if you got twice that for a 2hp you got lucky.

Hello,

Thank you again for all the information. I think I posted incorrectly, it is a 1922-23 Witte One 1/2 H.P.

Thanks JR
