Default Maytag Model 92 serial number location

I have a Model 92 Maytag (inherited from the family) that is pretty rough but is loose. I am trying to figure out what year it is but am not finding a serial number anywhere on or near the fly wheel. Can some one tell me where I need to clean additional grease and dirt from? It appears that both valves are operational but while I have the head off I want to re-ring it, how does one go about getting to the crank to get the piston out? Sorry for the rookie questions,
Thanks in advance for any suggestions and support.
Travis

Are you sure you have a Maytag? The way you ask the questions makes me think you may have something else like a Briggs. Post a picture. If it is a Maytag the serial number will be on the rim of the flywheel above the points inspection cover. Mark

Thanks for the reply Mark...I guess I was under the impression that it was a maytag simply based on the similarities to a 92, here are a few pictures.
Thanks again,
Travis

I forgot to mention that I have the head and outer pulley's removed, but I'm guessing you have that figured out already.

I guess that shouldn't be a shocker to me as I didn't see Maytag anywhere on the engine. Is the hunt for parts going to be any more difficult for this model and is it worth any more or less than a Maytag?
Thanks for the assistance fellas,
Travis

yeah, Iron Horse, probably a X-3... or X-2... series type.
Parts may be not as plenty full as for the Maytags, but looking at the right places (here, Ebay, local shows and swap meets) should be able to find what you need to get them going.
Value... always wide open for speculation, what I've seen that Maytags, although nearly on every corner, fetch a higher price than the Iron Horse. But after you go through the resurrection process you will treasure them a little higher.
