My parts book shows a spring .I remember when I cleaned it all up and put every thing back that is was lose in the case and thought to my self something is missing

my parts book is good for numbers but the cut away isn't greatest for showing the parts how they go in order but at least I know if 1 is missing

I thot that you had a 2xhr? That parts book would be awesome if you had a 7 to 10 xhr. I'm thinking that your 2 and the 3's should be close for parts just that mine is a little bigger. Your book shows that there is an adapter that the injector line gets screwed onto before the filter. Mine is the line just threads on the filter body and no spring.

That's different, mine shows no spring and it's not loose either. My book shows none of that unless there is a difference with the Mark C and CR parts book compared to a 2 to 3 xhr book.

There! That's what my book shows. The manual shows that plus the parts book too.

That L8023 number that is shown by the breakdown is the same in my book.

One engine Ray had said was sold to Mumford Medland July 21 1936 and my other is a '37

Learn something new all the time. Maybe there is somebody else out there that could shed some light on this why Ruston had used a spring in the filter then not used it.
