Default Maytag 92 spark plug

Getting my 92 up and running and noticed that the sparkplug, an Autolite 458, is fitted into a threaded reducer. I am thinking this is not how they came from the factory -- correct?

the correct plug for your engine is a 3095 autolite it has 1/2 npt pipe threads to screw in in place of the adaptor the 3095 plugs around here are around 4.00 each that may be why someone used the adaptor instead

That's an interesting lead out terminal. Does it appear factory? Haven't seen one like that I don't believe.
