Default Ottawa Drag Saw gear teeth repair

Hi all,

I am acquiring an Ottawa Log Saw 5 hp TE.

The big gear that runs the saw has a few half broken off gear teeth. It will still work, but I'd like to get the half broken teeth brazed up and cut. Anybody know of a machinist who could do that? Maybe I can find someone local or I could mail it if I had to. Thanks, Jamie

Would think that any local machine shop worth its salt could do that job. Question would they be wiling to do it for the money they could make off of it.

Drill a series of holes where the tooth is missing, tap and install machine screws, probably 8-32. Cut them a little lower than the tooth height, braze over them. You can grind and file the braze to form the tooth following the old section, run it though with bluing to check for high spots.
