Default Fairbanks Morse engine

Hi...just a quick question....regarding Fairbanks "Z" engines....Anyways, I ran across one recently that was stamped "8 h.p." on the brass tag on the front of the water hopper. I always thought that FM never made an 8 horse....was I wrong to think this? Thanks in advance....

I don't think there was a Z series engine which was 8 hp, there was an 8hp Fairbanks "N" before the Z series was started in 1915 with the 1 1/2 Headless

FBM built a ZC engine which was 7-8hp.
