Default Sulzer 16ZA40S X-Ray view

This is the Sulzer ZA40S series , in this case a 16 cylinder.
Power outputs ranged from 4890 to 17640 BHP at 500 - 514 rpm.

What year is this photo from?

Is something between ZA40 and ZAV40S series.. my guess would be about 80's?

I took a cruise on the Crown Princess ship 2 years ago-powered by 5 of those...3 V16's & 2 V12's.
And no, they will not give tours of the engine room...I asked...

Rebuilt lots of those heads for Holland America - they are a chunk to flip around...

I don't know if this is the same one the OP posted, but I saved it from somewhere, back when this thread was new...
Still butt-hurt because they wouldn't let me tour the engine room on the Crown Princess...
