Photo Help with Fairbanks Morse Z 1.5hp

I am new to the hit n miss and need help with my new engine. I think it is a 1919 fairbanks 1.5hp but the numbers are rusted and gone. The tag says fairbanks z 1.5hp 500rpms.
It has no spark plug and points are in the head, carb is mounted on the bottom and has a round bowl, spoked flywheels.

hi,

welcome aboard. there just like potato chips, soon enough you'll be on the hunt for another. what you have there is a 1 1/2hp farbanks morse plugoscillator, you are missing the magneto. it has what is called an ignitor.
here is a video of a running exmaple (not mine):

and another

regards
jordan

p.s. maybe one of the moderators could move this to the main forum so it gets more exposure?

Welcome aboard, The OLD IRON BUG BITES HARD. I also have a 1 1/2 hp plugoslatior, Picked it up last year on a trip to Washington. Very smooth running engine, Good luck finding the mag. This has become one of my favorite engines in my collection because of the way it runs

you're in luck, you have all the parts that are hard to find. The mags are easy to come by. Call one of the page sponsors like Rudy at Adrians Magneto.

I have one that I picked up earlier this year at an auction. It is all there but some assembly required!

Thanks to all that have replied. I am looking for some type of diagram for it I really need one for the valves and push rods, timing control. The bowl on the carb is rusted out so if anyone has any suggestions please let me know.

I was going to post a video of mine but Jordan already did....

mine is the one in the first video. My cup was missing also, you will not need it to run the engine. I made a new cup for mine but it's just there for looks.

Like Jim says, the magneto shouldn't be hard to find at all. These are very nice running engines and I was told they were only made for about 6 months in 1919. They're not real common. Mine is the one in the second video that Jordan posted.

Here's another video of mine.
