Thank you all for your help, the problem is solved.The adjusting bolt on the rocker arm was too tight opening the exhaust valve ever so slightly right after TDC after the plug fired. How this got out of adjustment after the last time it ran is another mystery. I am also wondering where you guys are setting your oil dripper for the piston. I am running the engine a little above half speed, about 350rpm.

Gremlins, they like to twist on nuts and bolts at night while you sleep, they can be destructive little shits to , LOL, LOL. Thanks for letting everyone know what you found ,that helps others when they do searches, on their problems. On oil about 3 or 4 drips a second or so the piston looks wet and shiny, I am old school oil is cheaper than metal fillings and parts .... Try the bump starting I mentioned in my other post sure beats whipping wheels over..

Rich, I'm with you in that lubrication is a very good thing but do you really mean 3 or 4 drips a second or do you mean a drip every 3 or 4 seconds?
